About Us

Action-Ants is a new multi-sports coaching company based in Cumbria. The team pride themselves on introducing children to a variety of exciting alternative sports from a very young age. The focus of each session is primarily on having fun whilst playing sport, but it also incorporates physical education with numeracy and literacy skills, which can be directly linked to the National Curriculum objectives and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) through participation in games.

Our professionally run activities give children aged from 2 and a half years and upwards an opportunity to actively participate in a variety of popular and exciting sports, such as fencing, target archery, field archery, obstacle courses, karate, tri-golf, athletics, football, futsal, lacrosse, hockey, tennis and many others.

Every Action-Ants session aims to:

Promote having fun through physical play.

Provide praise and encouragement.

Support your child's individual physical, cognitive, linguistic, social and emotional development.

Create a positive environment that will encourage your child to develop their sports skills and fitness through fun activities and games.

Support every child's individual learning through planned and child led activities that are challenging but achievable.

Provide clear instructions

Allow adequate time for your child to learn and practice skills to ensure your child has these skills for life.

We feel that physical education is an integral part of every child's life and all children must be introduced to a variety of activities at an early age. We look forward to welcoming all existing and new children to our Action-Ants classes.

Although we are a new company our popularity is increasing rapidly and we are already currently providing a range of activities for children in Schools, Nurseries and leisure venues across Cumbria including; The Sands Centre (Carlisle Leisure), Rheged Discovery Centre (Penrith), Penrith Leisure Centre, Kiddlywinks Nursery (Penrith), Greystoke School, Hunterhall School (Penrith), Skelton School, Inglewood School, Morland School, Temple Sowerby School, Penruddock School, Threlkeld School, Long Marton School and many other Cumbrian schools and pre schools.

Our friendly coaches are qualified to teach a variety of sports to children of all ages. We hold certificates in a variety of recognised organisations including the Lawn Tennis Association, Football Association, British Fencing Association, and Archery Leader Coaching. All team members also have Sports Coaching Diplomas, and have many years of experience working with children of all ages in the leisure industry.

Action–Ants coaches ensure that sport is taught in an engaging and motivating environment to instil self-confidence, co-ordination and new sports skills in each child. We also help consolidate valuable skills such as sharing, teamwork and listening.

All Action-Ants coaches have undergone enhanced DBS (CRB) checks, have a First Aid at Work qualification and have completed the SAFEchild protection workshop.
