NEW Archery-Golf

Archery-Golf is an exhilarating new activity created by Action-Ants for Primary School children. It combines Archery and Tri-golf to create one exciting game. The focus of each session is primarily on having fun whilst playing sport, but it also incorporates physical education with numeracy skills, and many aspects of the activity can be directly linked to the national curriculum objectives. Action–Ants coaches ensure that Archery-Golf is taught in an engaging and motivating environment to instil self-confidence, co-ordination and new sports skills in each child. We also help consolidate valuable skills such as sharing, teamwork and listening.

What does an Archery-Golf session consist of?

To begin with, an experienced Action-Ants coach will introduce the two activities to the children separately.

Firstly, we will introduce the pupils to Tri-golf, a mini version of golf that has been specifically created for children. It involves the use of adapted golf equipment designed to provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to the sport. During these early stages of the session the qualified coach will teach children how to hold and swing a golf club properly, putt, chip and drive golf balls by playing a variety of fun golf themed activities.

In the second part of the session we will introduce the children to Archery. We only use professional purpose built bows and newly designed soft shot arrows to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment. When all of the children have developed the necessary skills to be able to hit a variety of fun themed targets, we will progress the session onto main game- Archery-Golf.

The basics priciples of how to play Archery-Golf are explained in the photographs to the right.
